UHost FAQ
This FAQ answers what people ask most about UHost: the launch, licences, moving from another panel, email and updates. Something not in the FAQ? Write to hello@uhostpanel.com.
When does UHost launch?
The public release is 13 October 2026. That day the installer opens to everyone and all three plans become available, the free one included. Until then this site shows exactly what UHost does, with pictures of the real panel.
What does the free plan include?
Every feature, for one website, with no time limit and no card. No licence key or account is needed to use it.
Is UHost an alternative to the panel I use now?
If your panel hosts websites, email, DNS, SSL certificates, databases, backups and customer accounts with hosting packages, UHost does those jobs. It runs on your own Linux server, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS today, and is priced per server rather than per account. A few features other panels have are left out on purpose, and the comparison page lists them.
Is UHost priced per account?
No. A licence covers a server, and Pro hosts as many websites and customer accounts as that server can hold for $19.95 a month. Adding a customer never changes the price.
What does Business add?
Licences for as many servers as you run, priority support with a reply within one business day, and hands-on help moving your websites from your old panel, for $49.95 a month.
What happens if a paid licence runs out?
The server goes back to the free plan. Every website, mailbox and DNS zone it hosts keeps running. UHost refuses to create another website past the free plan's limit, and it never removes one.
Are updates and security fixes only for paid plans?
No. Every installation is offered every release, including security fixes, whatever plan it is on. An update installs only when an administrator presses the button, and it is refused unless it carries UHost's signature.
Can I move my websites from my old panel?
Yes. Let UHost sign in to the old server over SSH and pull a website across, or upload an archive of its files. Full account backups in the most widely used hosting panel's format are read as they are, with their databases and domains. WordPress and Joomla are pointed at their new database, and before anything is created UHost shows what it found and what will not come across.
Is email migrated too?
Not yet. UHost lists every email address it finds in an account backup so you can create those mailboxes, because the passwords on the old server cannot be carried across and a mailbox nobody can open is worse than none.
Does UHost include email hosting?
Yes. Mailboxes at your customers' own domains with IMAP and SMTP over TLS, Roundcube webmail, DKIM signing, spam filtering, forwarding and a size limit per mailbox. UHost publishes the records mail needs where it hosts the domain's DNS, and answers the automatic setup Thunderbird and Outlook look for.
Can my customers sign in to UHost?
Yes. Each customer gets a login that sees only their own websites, within the allowances of the hosting package you give them. People can also have narrower roles, such as a developer or a read-only account.
Does UHost install WordPress?
Yes. WordPress and Joomla install into a website, or a folder of one, from a download checked against its published checksum, with the administrator account created for you. Copying a website gives the copy its own database, so a staging site is a real staging site.
What do I need to run UHost?
A fresh Ubuntu 24.04 LTS server with root access, at least 1 GB of memory and 2 GB of free disk, and a hostname pointing at it. Any provider works. Ubuntu is what UHost installs on today; more Linux distributions are planned. Hosting email needs the server to have a name, not only an IP address.
Is there a default password?
No. The installer shows a single-use setup token once. You open the panel, enter the token and create the owner account yourself.
How do I get help?
Pro customers write to support@uhostpanel.com. Business customers get a reply within one business day. On the free plan, the install guide and these answers cover getting started.
