Install UHost on Ubuntu 24.04
From 13 October 2026, one command on a fresh Ubuntu 24.04 server installs UHost. The installer asks what the server will host, sets it up, and hands you a single-use token to create your account.
What you need
- A fresh Ubuntu Server 24.04 LTS machine with root access
- 1 GB of memory and 2 GB of free disk, or more
- A hostname, such as cp.example.com, pointing at the server
- SSH access kept open while it installs
Ubuntu 24.04 LTS is what UHost installs on today. Support for more Linux distributions is planned.

Install
One command, from 13 October 2026.
On 13 October 2026 this page gives the one command that installs UHost. Until then, a server can be made ready with everything above.
Run as root on the new server, it asks UHost's release service for the newest release, downloads it, carrying on where it stopped if the connection drops, checks it against the published checksum, and runs the installer inside it. The installer asks what the server will host, or takes the answers as options for an unattended install.

Installing questions
What do I need to run UHost?
A fresh Ubuntu 24.04 LTS server with root access, at least 1 GB of memory and 2 GB of free disk, and a hostname pointing at it. Any provider works. Ubuntu is what UHost installs on today; more Linux distributions are planned. Hosting email needs the server to have a name, not only an IP address.
Is there a default password?
No. The installer shows a single-use setup token once. You open the panel, enter the token and create the owner account yourself.
Are updates and security fixes only for paid plans?
No. Every installation is offered every release, including security fixes, whatever plan it is on. An update installs only when an administrator presses the button, and it is refused unless it carries UHost's signature.
