Work on UHost
UHost is a small team building a hosting control panel that people run their businesses on. We would like to hear from developers and from marketing people who want to work on UHost, and this page is honest about where that stands.
UHost opens to everyone on 13 October 2026, and hiring follows the customers rather than coming before them. What we are doing now is reading. Write in, and if what you do fits what UHost needs next, we will come back to you when there is a role rather than leaving you wondering.
Who we want to hear from
Two kinds of people, for two different problems.
Programmers and developers
UHost is built in Go on Linux, with TypeScript and React in the browser. If you are at home in either, or in the parts of a Linux server that bite, we would like to talk.
- Servers, properly. Processes, users, permissions, web servers, mail, DNS and databases, and what goes wrong with them at three in the morning.
- Interfaces people live in. A panel somebody uses all day is judged on the small things, and those are the interesting ones.
- Work that has to be right the first time, on somebody else's server, with nobody watching.
- Care about the details. The wording of a message, the state after a failure, the thing nobody would have noticed.
Marketing
A good hosting panel that nobody has heard of does nobody any good. The product is built and the audience is not, and that is the interesting half of the problem right now.
- Writing that respects the reader. Hosting is full of pages that claim everything and say nothing. Ours say what the software does, and that is the standard.
- Search. People look for a way out of per-account pricing. Being the page they find is most of this job.
- The places hosts actually talk, which are forums, communities and other people's comment sections rather than billboards.
- Measuring it. What brought somebody here, what they read, and whether they installed anything.
How the work is done here
Small team, plain words, no theatre.
- Decisions are written down, so an argument settled a year ago does not have to be had again.
- Nothing ships on a hope. If it has not been tried on a real server, it is not finished.
- Plain words, in the product and out of it. If a message cannot be read by the person it is for, it is not done.
- People run their businesses on this. Somebody's customers' websites, mail and DNS are on the other side of every change, which is a good discipline and an uncomfortable one.

What you have made
Anything real you can show us, and what your part in it was. Code, a site you grew, a campaign that worked. A list of tools you have touched tells us far less.
What you want to do next
A couple of sentences. The work you would take if you could choose it, so we know whether UHost is that work.
Where you are
Your country and timezone. UHost is run from Nova Scotia, on Atlantic time, and works with people wherever they are, so this is about overlap rather than a border.

Please do not send a password, a licence key, a client's login or anything else you should not send a stranger. Nothing here asks for one.
